An elderly woman was tragically killed after being run over by a fuel tanker truck in Brgy. Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite at approximately 1:50 PM yesterday.
The victim, identified as a 60-year-old resident of the area, was crossing the street when she was hit and subsequently run over by the truck.
CCTV footage from the barangay captured the incident, showing the woman being struck and going under the vehicle. She suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Rosario Municipal Police reported that the truck driver did not notice the woman as she was in his blind spot.
The driver is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges of reckless imprudence.
