Police nab illegal firearm seller in Cavite

The General Trias Component City Police Station (GTCCPS) on March 6, 2024 arrested a man who was selling illegal firearms in Brgy. Navarro, City of General Trias, Cavite.

The suspect, known only as “JonJon,” was caught in a sting operation by the GTCCPS personnel, who seized a 5.56 caliber rifle, a long magazine, and P80,000 in cash from him.

The GTCCPS chief, PLTCOL JOSE O NAPARATO JR., said that the suspect will face charges for violating R.A. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, at the Office of the City Prosecutor, General Trias City Cavite.

The recovered firearm and magazine will undergo ballistic examination at the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit, Imus City, Cavite.
