DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite – Two drug suspects were arrested and 238,000 pesos worth of shabu were seized in a buy-bust operation in this city on Sunday, police said.

The suspects, known only by their aliases Rene and Jal, were residents of Barangay H-2 in Dasmariñas City, according to Police Colonel Eleuterio M Ricardo Jr, provincial director of Cavite Police.

They were caught selling shabu to an undercover police officer in Barangay Saint Peter II around 3 p.m., Ricardo said.

Police recovered four sachets of shabu weighing about 35 grams, along with the marked money used in the transaction.

The suspects were brought to the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit for proper disposition, while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being prepared against them.

The seized shabu will be submitted to the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth T Lucas, regional director of Police Regional Office Calabarzon, lauded the successful operation and praised the Cavite police for their relentless campaign against illegal drugs.

Ricardo also urged the public to support the police in their efforts to curb criminality in the province.

“Let us work together and continue our intensified campaign against criminality in our province,” he said in Filipino.
