A man who was listed as one of the most wanted drug suspects in Cavite province was arrested by police in Naic town on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

The suspect, who goes by the alias “AL”, was nabbed in Barangay Bancaan by operatives of the Ternate Municipal Police Station’s Warrant Section, according to a press release from the Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

CPPO said that “AL” was wanted for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which pertain to the sale and possession of illegal drugs.

The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 132 in Cavite, which sentenced “AL” to serve time in prison.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Ternate police for further processing.

CPPO said that the arrest of “AL” was part of its intelligence-driven operation to hunt down people with outstanding warrants of arrest, especially those involved in illegal drug activities.

CPPO assured the public that it will continue to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in the province.
