SILANG, Cavite – Hundreds of residents of Barangay Lalaan 1 in Silang received free health services and a warm meal from the provincial and local government officials on January 12, 2024.

The medical mission, led by the provincial government of Cavite’s medical team, offered consultations and free medicines for various ailments and conditions. The mission catered to 463 beneficiaries, ranging from infants to senior citizens.

Mayor Atty. Kevin Amutan Anarna, Vice Mayor Edward Carranza, and Sangguniang Bayan members were present to show their support and gratitude to the medical team and the residents. They also emphasized the importance of community spirit and cooperation in times of crisis.

Vice Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino, who sponsored the free lugaw for everyone, said that the medical mission was part of the provincial government’s commitment to provide quality and accessible health care to all Cavitenos.

She also expressed her appreciation to the barangay officials and volunteers who helped in the preparation and implementation of the mission.

“It is heartwarming to see the people of Silang come together and help each other. This is what we need to overcome the challenges we face as a province and as a nation. We are here to serve you and to show you that you are not alone,” Tolentino said.

The residents of Barangay Lalaan 1 thanked the provincial and local officials for their generosity and compassion. They said that the medical mission was a great help to them, especially during the pandemic.

“Thank you very much for this medical mission. It is a big relief for us to have free check-ups and medicines. We are also grateful for the free lugaw. It is delicious and filling. We hope that you will continue to help us and other barangays in Silang,” said Maria, a 45-year-old mother of three.
