Caviteños Receive Certificates for Arbor Day 2023 Participation

The provincial government of Cavite honored the participants of the Arbor Day 2023 tree planting initiative in a ceremony held at the Ceremonial Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, Trece Martires City, Cavite on December 22, 2023.

The ceremony recognized the efforts of 64 individuals and groups who planted and nurtured trees in various locations in the province from May to November 2023.

The Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (OPENRO) thanked the participants for their dedication and contribution to the environmental protection and sustainability of Cavite. The participants received certificates of appreciation from the provincial government, as well as messages of encouragement and gratitude from the guest speakers.

Among the guest speakers were Ms. Mary Grace Nova, representing Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs; Ms. Rio Montenegro, representing Hon. Justine Jay A. Cabasi, SK Federation President of Tagaytay City; and Rev. Fr. Jefferson Ballesta, representing the Pearl of the Orient Auxiliary Chaplains and Values Educators of Dasmariñas, Cavite. They all stressed the importance of preserving the environment as a God-given gift and the significance of Arbor Day as a celebration of nature.

The event was also attended by For. Merle Piad and Mr. Mark Tepora, along with representatives from DENR, PASu-TVPL, Silang-MENRO Engr. Erna Rezza T. Panis, and OIC-Cavite PPO, PLTCOL Pablito Naganag. They joined OPENRO head, Ms. Anabelle L. Cayabyab, in presenting the certificates to the awardees.

The ceremony ended with a photo opportunity and a closing remark from Ms. Anabelle L. Cayabyab, who expressed her gratitude and appreciation to everyone who participated and supported the Arbor Day 2023 tree planting initiative. She also announced that the provincial government plans to continue and expand the initiative in the coming years, as part of its vision to make Cavite a green and prosperous province.
