GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite – The City of General Trias has announced a landmark partnership with Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Cavite, offering full scholarships to ten qualified residents.

The General Trias – LPU Cavite Full Scholarship Partnership (GLCFSP) will cover 100% of tuition and miscellaneous fees for successful applicants.

To be eligible, applicants must be residents of General Trias or children of residents. Academic requirements include a minimum grade point average of 85% or 2.25 in the previous academic year and passing LPU Cavite’s entrance examination. The program targets students from families with annual incomes not exceeding 300,000 Philippine pesos.

LGU officials emphasized the city’s commitment to education, stating, “This partnership with LPU Cavite represents our investment in the future of General Trias. We’re providing opportunities for our brightest young minds to pursue higher education without financial barriers.”

Applicants must submit documentation to the Mayor’s Office by July 4, 2024. Required materials include proof of residency, academic records, and financial statements. The city will screen applications before forwarding qualified candidates to LPU Cavite for admission.

LPU Cavite has praised the initiative: “We’re proud to collaborate with General Trias in nurturing local talent. This program aligns with our mission to provide quality education and contribute to community development.”

The scholarship excludes the BS Nursing program. Interested parties can contact the Office of the City Mayor for further details.

This partnership underscores a growing trend of local governments collaborating with private institutions to enhance educational access.

As cities like General Trias invest in human capital, they aim to drive long-term economic growth and social progress.
