BACOOR, Cavite — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will begin distributing cash relief assistance to tricycle drivers in this city on Wednesday, April 8, as part of a regional payout covering the Calabarzon area.
The payout will be held at the Bacoor Government Center Gymnasium from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. An initial 1,900 beneficiaries are set to receive aid in the first batch.
Drivers who are not included in the first batch were advised to coordinate with their respective Transport Operators and Drivers’ Association (TODA) presidents for the schedule of subsequent payouts and other details.
The city government urged residents to monitor announcements from DSWD field offices for updates on payout schedules and designated sites to ensure an orderly and efficient claims process.
The cash relief program is part of DSWD’s broader assistance initiative for public utility vehicle drivers, who have faced financial pressures from rising fuel costs driven by ongoing global supply disruptions.
