BACOOR CITY, Cavite – The Bacoor City Police Office (BCPO) issued an official statement on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, denying the rumors of a jailbreak involving persons under police custody and persons deprived of liberty from local custodial centers and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facilities.
BCPO said that the rumors circulating on various platforms were false and misleading, and constituted fake news or misinformation.
The PNP assured the public that they had conducted a thorough investigation and coordinated with all custodial centers and BJMP facilities, and verified that there was no truth to the rumors.
BCPO emphasized that the safety and security of the community remained their utmost priority, and that they were committed to ensuring the well-being of the residents in collaboration with the local government unit and other law enforcement agencies.
Police Bacoor also urged everyone to exercise caution and responsibility when sharing information on social media, and to verify the accuracy of information before spreading it.
BCPO warned that false alarms could have serious consequences and impact public safety, and reminded the public that spreading fake news was a crime.
Police Bacoor thanked the public for their cooperation and appealed to them to stand united in promoting a culture of responsible information-sharing and contributing to the overall safety and tranquility of Bacoor City.
