Miss Universe PH – Cavite 2024 is JK Labajo’s New Love

MANILA, Philippines – The newest Miss Universe Philippines – Cavite 2024 is not only a stunning beauty, but also a talented singer-songwriter and the girlfriend of one of the hottest young stars in the country.

Deanna Marie “Dia” Mate, 22, was officially crowned as the representative of Cavite province in the prestigious Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant during a sashing ceremony held at Pardon My French Manila in Makati City on Tuesday.

Dia, who graduated from De La Salle University with a degree in Communication Arts, is also a recording artist under Star Music. She released her debut single “Kahit Na” in 2023, which garnered positive reviews from listeners and critics alike.

But perhaps the most surprising revelation about Dia is her romantic relationship with Juan Karlos ‘JK’ Labajo, 23, the former The Voice Kids finalist and the lead vocalist of the band Senior High. The two confirmed their status as a couple in an Instagram post on Monday, where they exchanged sweet messages and expressed their love for each other.

“Happy anniversary, my love. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you more than words can say,” Dia wrote, along with a photo of them holding hands.

JK replied, “I love you too, my queen. You are the most beautiful and amazing person in the world. I can’t wait to see you shine on the Miss Universe stage.”

The post quickly went viral, with fans and celebrities congratulating the pair and wishing them the best. Some of the well-wishers include JK’s former co-star Andrea Brillantes, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, and Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Rabiya Mateo.

Dia and JK are set to appear together in a special Valentine’s Day concert on February 14, where they will perform their duet “Ere”, a hit song that topped the charts in 2023.

Dia will also start her training and preparation for the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant, which is expected to take place in June. She will compete against 39 other candidates from different regions of the country for the coveted crown and the chance to represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant.

Dia said she is ready to take on the challenge and make her province and her country proud.

“I am honored and grateful to be the Miss Universe Philippines – Cavite 2024. I will do my best to showcase the beauty, culture, and spirit of Cavite and the Philippines to the world. I hope to inspire and empower other women to pursue their dreams and make a positive difference in society,” she said.
