SILANG, Cavite — Two people died and a third was critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding struck a concrete pole along a dark, curved road in Barangay Iba.
The crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.
Authorities said the three victims were on a single motorcycle and speed may have been a factor. The rider lost control while navigating a curve and went off the road, hitting the pole.
The motorcycle was destroyed in the crash, and all three were thrown. Two of the victims were pronounced dead on arrival at two separate hospitals.
A third victim remained in critical condition Thursday.
Police said they were investigating whether overspeeding or failure to wear helmets contributed to the crash.
