TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite — Police arrested a regional most wanted person during a manhunt operation Saturday afternoon in Barangay Maitim 2nd East.
The suspect, identified by authorities only by the alias “Rufino,” was taken into custody around 5:40 p.m. by personnel from the intelligence and warrant sections of the Tagaytay Component City Police Station, police said in a report.
Rufino was wanted for robbery with homicide, a non-bailable offense. The arrest was made based on a warrant issued Feb. 11 by Judge Lovette Joi Fortiz Belza of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 136, in Tagaytay City. The case is docketed as Criminal Case No. TG-26-099, under Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code.
Officers used body-worn cameras and an alternative recording device during the operation to ensure proper documentation, police said.
The suspect was taken to the police station for processing before being presented in court.
Police reminded the public to cooperate with authorities to help expedite the arrest of other wanted individuals.
