INDANG, Cavite — Cavite State University stands as one of the most established and important public institutions of higher education in Cavite province and throughout CALABARZON.

The university, led by its main campus in Indang and supported by 11 satellite campuses, serves as a center of knowledge and training for thousands of students from various sectors of society.

Through nearly 100 academic programs, CvSU expands educational opportunities in the fields of arts, sciences, technology, agriculture, business, education and others to meet the evolving needs of the country and the global community.

CvSU traces its origins to a long history of education focused on practical knowledge and public service. It was established in 1906 as Indang Intermediate School, an institution that served as the foundation of formal education in the region.

Over time and with an expanding mandate, it became Don Severino Agricultural College in 1964, emphasizing agriculture, science and research in response to national development needs.

The government recognized its continued growth and importance when it was officially declared Cavite State University on Jan. 22, 1998, through Republic Act No. 8468, giving it a broader role as a state university.

As a state university, CvSU has a clear and strong mission to develop individuals with high levels of knowledge, skills and ethical values.

It emphasizes not only excellence in academic performance but also the cultivation of discipline, responsibility and concern for others. Through research, extension services and community engagement, the university actively participates in solving social and economic problems, particularly in agriculture, education and modern technology.

It aims to produce globally competitive graduates capable of adapting and leading in various fields.

All aspirations, programs and activities of Cavite State University are united by its motto “Truth, Excellence, Service.” These words serve as guides in maintaining integrity and honesty in the pursuit of knowledge, striving for high standards of education and selfless service to the nation.

Overall, CvSU is not merely a place of learning but an institution that shapes character, disseminates knowledge and contributes to the long-term development of Philippine society.
