Cavite is set to build on a year of major infrastructure and economic progress with key projects reaching completion and new ones breaking ground in 2026.
Major road developments drove much of last year’s advancement. The completed Malagasang and Tagaytay flyovers improved traffic flow, while construction began on the Pala-Pala Underpass. Rehabilitation work continued on Aguinaldo Highway, Governor’s Drive, Antero Soriano Highway and Daang Hari.
The coming year will see several high-profile openings. The Cavite–Laguna Expressway will open its Governor’s Drive Interchange this month, with the full alignment scheduled for completion by year’s end. Its connecting route to the CAVITEX is also nearing completion.
Other road projects expected to advance include new segments of the Cavite East–West Lateral Road, the Daang Hari Extension to Gov. Ferrer Drive and the expansion of the Dasmariñas–GMA–Carmona Road into the Dasmariñas–General Trias–Tanza Road.
Commercial growth will continue with the scheduled completion of Ayala Malls Evo City and SM City General Trias. Multiple residential condominium projects are also slated for completion or groundbreaking.
Looking further ahead, several transformative projects could start or see progress in 2026. These include PGH Cavite hospital, the Cavite Bus Rapid Transit System, the South Luzon Integrated Terminal Exchange, the Bataan–Cavite Interlink Bridge, the Cavite–Batangas Expressway, Sangley Point International Airport and the LRT-1 Cavite Extension.
Officials say these combined developments will enhance regional connectivity, stimulate the economy and improve quality of life for residents as Cavite solidifies its role as a growth center in Southern Luzon.
