The CCLINK Team successfully completed the installation of all 168 girders for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Kawit Viaduct Extension project in the early hours of October 18, 2025 between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m.
The milestone was celebrated with a fireworks display, marking a monumental step toward connecting the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and the CALAX Kawit Toll Plaza.
To facilitate the lifting operations, a stop-and-go traffic scheme was implemented along Centennial Road in Kawit, Cavite, approximately 20 kilometers south of Manila.
The girders, essential structural components for the viaduct, were transported from Baras, Rizal, about 40 kilometers east of Manila, to the project site in Cavite.
The CALAX Kawit Viaduct Extension is the final segment needed to fully link CAVITEX, a key expressway connecting Manila to Cavite’s coastal areas, with the CALAX Kawit Toll Plaza, part of a an expressway network aimed at easing traffic congestion and boosting economic activity in the rapidly developing Cavite province.
The completion of this segment is expected to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time between Metro Manila and Cavite’s industrial and residential hubs.
