KAWIT, Cavite — Police arrested a suspected drug dealer Friday in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Toclong, Kawit, seizing suspected crystal meth and a firearm.
Authorities identified the suspect only as “Ace,” a resident of Barangay Malabon, General Trias, Cavite. Police said the operation, conducted around 4:30 p.m. by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and intelligence operatives in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Region 4A, resulted in the confiscation of a small heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu.
Police also recovered a .38-caliber revolver loaded with two live rounds from the suspect’s possession.
The suspect was informed of his rights under the Miranda doctrine and taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Acting Kawit police chief Lt. Col. Resty Soriano said the arrest reflects the station’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and firearms, warning the public against engaging in criminal activities.
