GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite — A new Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) regional training center is set to rise in General Trias, a milestone in expanding access to technical and vocational education in Cavite.
General Trias Mayor Jon Jon Ferrer IV and TESDA Director General Jose “Kikoy” Benitez signed a Deed of Usufruct, officially securing a parcel of land in Barangay Santiago for the facility.
The training center will be the first regional TESDA hub in Calabarzon located outside Batangas, a move expected to benefit thousands of students and workers in the fast-growing province.
The upcoming center will offer a wide range of high-demand skills programs—including automotive, construction, and other technical fields—with certifications ranging from NC III and IV to full diploma courses.
The project aligns with the national government’s push to equip the Filipino workforce with future-ready skills amid the country’s ongoing industrialization efforts.
“Skilled labor is the backbone of industry—and Cavite’s ready to lead,” Mayor Ferrer said during the signing ceremony.
Cavite, one of the most populous and rapidly urbanizing provinces in the Philippines, is seen as a key growth corridor south of Metro Manila. Local officials say the TESDA center will help address the rising demand for qualified labor across various industries in the region.
