DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite — Authorities arrested a suspected high-value drug target during a buy-bust operation on Friday night, July 4, 2025 in Barangay Datu Esmael, seizing an estimated P1.36 million worth of suspected crystal meth, or shabu.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Boss Maymay,” 26, and a resident of the same barangay, was apprehended by the combined forces of the Cavite Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Dasmariñas City police around 10 p.m.

According to police, the operation yielded more than 200 grams of suspected shabu packed in two knot-tied plastic ice bags. Authorities also recovered the marked money used in the operation and a mobile phone.

The suspect is listed as a high-value individual in Cavite’s drug watchlist and is now in police custody facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“This arrest proves that there is no safe haven for those involved in illegal drugs in CALABARZON,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack L. Wanky, regional director of PRO CALABARZON. “We urge the public to continue supporting our campaign by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.”

Police continue to appeal for public cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs.
