NOVELETA, Cavite — Noveleta Mayor Davey Reyes Chua has signed Executive Order No. 2, launching the “Aksyon Kontra Baha!” campaign aimed at boosting municipal efforts to prevent flooding through intensified canal declogging and street cleaning in all barangays.

Under the new directive, the local government will implement regular clearing operations targeting blocked drainage lines and flood-prone areas. The order also establishes the Mayor’s Auxiliary Force (MAF)—a team tasked with leading the initiative in coordination with barangay personnel.

“This is a proactive step to protect our communities from flooding. But we can’t do it alone,” Chua said in a statement, urging residents to take part and observe discipline in maintaining cleanliness.

The executive order comes as the town braces for the peak of the rainy season, during which flash floods are common in low-lying barangays.

Officials said the program reflects the administration’s broader goals under the “Unlad Noveleta” development agenda and community care campaign.
