A state-of-the-art sports complex is rising in Villar City, poised to address the Philippines’ long-standing deficit in premium athletic facilities while nurturing Filipino talent development.
The 30,000-square-meter Villar City Stadium, developed in collaboration with All-Star Properties Inc., represents a huge investment in the nation’s sporting infrastructure.
At its core stands a 3,000-seat football stadium featuring a FIFA-standard pitch, complemented by dedicated courts for basketball, volleyball, padel, pickleball and badminton.

“This development could fundamentally alter the trajectory of Philippine athletics,” said a regional sports development expert who requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to comment publicly on the project.
The complex’s location in Villar City’s University Town district offers strategic advantages, with direct access via the Manila-Cavite Expressway and Daang Hari ensuring convenient transportation for both competitors and spectators from throughout the metropolitan region.
While specific investment figures weren’t disclosed, comparable facilities in Southeast Asia have typically required capital expenditures exceeding $50 million.
The project comes as neighboring countries like Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia have significantly upgraded their sporting infrastructure in recent years, leaving the Philippines struggling to compete as a venue for major regional competitions.
