Kawit, Cavite — Police arrested a suspected drug personality during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Samala-Marquez, Kawit, Cavite, authorities said Monday.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Wawang,” was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and intelligence operatives at around 5 p.m. on Feb. 26. The operation was carried out under the supervision of PLTCOL Socrates S. Jaca, officer-in-charge, and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.
Police said “Wawang” was caught selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu. The suspect was read his constitutional rights in a language he understood and was taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and disposition.
Authorities said the operation is part of an intensified campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in the municipality.
“The Kawit Municipal Police Station remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating crime in the community. This arrest serves as a stern warning against involvement in illegal drugs,” Jaca said.
The suspect will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
