Police on Saturday announced the arrest of a suspected drug personality in Kawit, Cavite province, as part of their intensified campaign against illicit substances.
According to a statement from the Kawit Municipal Police Station, the suspect, identified only by his alias “Ruben”, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balsahan-Bisita, Kawit, Cavite on Friday evening.
Police said the suspect, a resident of Barangay Alapan 1A, Imus City, Cavite, was caught selling a small sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine) to an undercover operative.
The operation was conducted by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the Kawit Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and is currently being held at the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further investigation.
The arrest is part of the police station’s ongoing efforts to eradicate crime and prevent the spread of illicit substances in the community.
“We will continue to intensify our campaign against all forms of criminality, including the illegal drug trade,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D. Corpuz, Chief of Police of the Kawit Municipal Police Station.
