As a final offering for the celebration of National Language Month, the Concert at the Park will feature the Community Wind Ensemble, a group based in General Trias, Cavite, in a program titled “Musikang Pilipino, Atin Ito!” (Filipino Music, It’s Ours!).
The Community Wind Ensemble, established on August 2, 2009, is composed of residents from General Trias.
Through free music lessons provided by senior members, the group’s young members have been given the opportunity to develop their musical talents and pursue higher education or professional careers.
The ensemble will perform on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 6 p.m. on the Lawn A, Central Section of Rizal Park Luneta, featuring soloists Joseph Lunes on euphonium, Jose Christian Alfaro on flute, and Jerry Manalo on trombone.
Conductors Virgilio De Leon, Esmeraldo “Bong” Mejico, and Mikko Almeria will lead the group. Jerome Sang will host the program.
The concert is free and open to the public.
