Cavite Career Caravan: A Collaborative Effort to Boost Employment Opportunities in Cavite

The Cavite Career Caravan, a significant event that took place on April 30, 2024, at Robinson Place in General Trias City, was a testament to the power of collaboration.

The event was orchestrated by the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager (OPPESM), led by Ms. Rizalie P. Enero, in partnership with the Provincial Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, headed by Chelsea Jillian Sarno, and the PESO Manager of General Trias City, Atty. Alexander Abraham P. Colina.

The local government also played a crucial role in this initiative, which aimed to extend comprehensive support to Cavite’s job seekers.

The event was graced by the presence of Vice Mayor Jonas Glyn P. Labuguen, 6th District Board Members Maurito C. Sison and Kerby J. Salazar, and City Councilors Kyle Jassel J. Salazar and J-M Vergel M. Columna.

Their participation highlighted the shared commitment to tackle employment issues in the region. In a significant move, Ms. Rosalinda B. Talavera, the Provincial Director of TESDA Cavite, awarded scholarships to 19 individuals. Furthermore, Ms. Marivic B. Martinez, the Provincial Director of DOLE-Cavite, bestowed a livelihood grant of 999,945 pesos to the General Trias Dairy Raisers Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

Ms. Camille S. Abundo-Galorio, the Labor and Employment Assistant of OPPESM, offered crucial career coaching insights, assisting new applicants in job interview preparation.

The primary objective of this collaboration was to provide comprehensive assistance and opportunities to job seekers through career coaching sessions. The event saw the participation of 70 employers, offering a wide array of job opportunities and attracting a total of 351 applicants.

Additionally, representatives from national government agencies such as SSS, Pag-ibig, Philhealth, were also present.
