MANILA – Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced that the updated Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) for the Lifeline Rate Discount Program have been fully implemented since January 2024. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) mandates this program, which requires eligible customers to apply to continue receiving discounts.

The Lifeline Rate is a discounted rate for customers whose monthly consumption is below 101kWh. Meralco encourages those who are eligible to apply. The eligibility criteria include:

  1. Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
  2. Individuals living below the poverty threshold as certified by the local Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO)

Meralco is committed to providing affordable electricity to its customers, especially those in need. The Lifeline Rate Discount Program is one of the ways the company is achieving this goal.

For more information about the Lifeline Rate and the application process, customers are advised to visit the Meralco website or call the ERC Hotline at (02) 8689-5372 loc. 5222. Meralco continues to serve its customers with dedication and looks forward to a brighter future for all.
