Drug Arrest in Tagaytay City: Police Seize Suspected ‘Shabu’

A man has been arrested in Tagaytay City, Cavite, on suspicion of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to local police.

The Tagaytay Component City Police Station (CCPS) said the suspect was initially stopped for illegal parking. However, his uncooperative behaviour raised suspicions, leading to a call for police assistance.

Upon arrival, officers from the CCPS Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) discovered a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance, believed to be “shabu”, which fell from the suspect’s bag during identity verification.

Further search revealed additional items, including two pieces of aluminium foil used as an improvised tooter, one piece of aluminium foil used as an improvised runway, a yellow lighter, and the violet sling bag that served as the container.

The suspect is now facing charges under sections 11 and 12, Article 2 of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The case is being prepared for inquest proceedings at the City Prosecutor’s Office in Tagaytay City, Cavite.

The Chief of Police, PLtCol Charles Daven Capagcuan, praised the efforts of the Tagaytay PNP and the active participation of the Tagaytay City community in the PNP’s campaigns against criminality and illegal drugs.
