More than 100 senior citizen leaders in Cavite attended a seminar on drug abuse prevention education at the Bayleaf Hotel in General Trias City on March 1, 2024.

The seminar, organized by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and the Provincial Government of Cavite, aimed to raise awareness and support among the elderly in the fight against illegal drugs.

The seminar was graced by provincial and national officials, who urged the senior citizens to be agents of change and to share their knowledge and influence with their families and communities.

Participants learned about the effects of drugs on the human body, the treatment and rehabilitation programs available, the laws and penalties related to drug abuse, and the national strategy and situation on anti-illegal drugs.

The seminar also tackled the issue of social stigma and the need for empathy and support for those who are recovering from drug addiction, ending with a post-test and evaluation, and the distribution of certificates of participation.
