Tagaytay City, Philippines – Eco Hotels, Inc., a company that operates eco-friendly and pet-friendly hotels in the Philippines, held a meet and greet event with its owners, Don Ramon Bagatsing and Alessandra Atienza, on February 8, 2024 at Bahay ni Maria at Marta Restaurant in Tagaytay City.
The event was attended by local media, tourism officials, and guests who wanted to learn more about the company’s vision and mission, as well as its products and services. The owners shared their passion for sustainability and hospitality, and how they aim to provide comfortable and affordable accommodation options that are respectful of the environment and the community.
One of the highlights of the event was the tour of the restaurant, which was formerly known as Casa Maria Y Martha Bed and Breakfast. The restaurant, which was built in the 80s, has been renovated and rebranded as Bahay ni Maria at Marta, a cozy and rustic diner that serves local Filipino dishes with a twist. The restaurant’s “Greatest Hits” menu features some of the owners’ favorite recipes, such as adobo, sinigang, kare-kare, and lechon kawali. The ingredients used in the restaurant are sourced from their own Bahay Farms, which grows organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers.
Another highlight of the event was the introduction of the company’s two green and pet-friendly hotels in Cavite: the Containers By Eco Hotel and the Cabins By Ecohotel. The Containers By Eco Hotel, located along SVD Road, is a unique hotel that uses recycled shipping containers as its main building material. The hotel offers 16 rooms, each with its own balcony, air-conditioning, hot and cold shower, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel also has a rooftop garden, a swimming pool, a cafe, and a function room. The hotel welcomes pets of all sizes and breeds, and provides pet amenities such as beds, bowls, toys, and treats.
The Cabins By Ecohotel, located at Lot 7-V Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Junction, is a charming hotel that uses reclaimed wood and stone as its main building material. The hotel offers 10 cabins, each with its own veranda, air-conditioning, hot and cold shower, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel also has a picnic area, a bonfire pit, a playground, and a souvenir shop. The hotel welcomes pets of all sizes and breeds, and provides pet amenities such as beds, bowls, toys, and treats.
Both hotels are certified by the Department of Tourism as green hotels, which means they adhere to the standards of environmental management, energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and social responsibility. The hotels also support local livelihoods by hiring local staff, sourcing local products, and promoting local attractions.
Eco Hotels, Inc. is planning to expand its network of green and pet-friendly hotels in other parts of the country, such as Baguio, Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan. The company hopes to inspire more travelers to choose eco-friendly and pet-friendly accommodation options, and to contribute to the preservation and promotion of the Philippines’ natural and cultural heritage.
