TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Department of Education (DepEd) Cavite Province is calling on parents and guardians of incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 learners in public schools to participate in the Early Registration for School Year 2024-2025.

The Early Registration, which started on January 27 and will end on February 23, 2024, aims to ensure that all learners have access to quality basic education and to prepare the schools for the expected number of enrollees for the next school year.

According to DepEd Cavite Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Cherry Mae Limbaco, the Early Registration is part of the MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang Makabansa agenda of the current administration, which seeks to make the curriculum relevant, accelerate the delivery of basic education services, take good care of learners, and give support to teachers.

“We encourage all parents and guardians to register their children as early as possible so that we can plan ahead and provide them with the best learning opportunities and facilities. We also appeal to the local government units, barangay officials, and other stakeholders to help us disseminate this information and assist us in reaching out to the learners, especially those who are out-of-school, living in remote areas, or belonging to marginalized sectors,” Limbaco said.

Limbaco added that the Early Registration will also help the schools implement the MATATAG Curriculum, which was launched last August to decongest the current K to 12 Curriculum by 70 percent. The MATATAG Curriculum focuses on the development of foundational skills, values, and character of learners in their early years in basic education.

To register their children, parents and guardians may visit the nearest public school in their area and fill out the Basic Education Enrollment Form. They may also opt to use the electronic copies of the form, which can be downloaded from the DepEd Cavite website or Facebook page. The schools will also accept registration through phone calls, text messages, or online platforms.

For more information, parents and guardians may contact the DepEd Cavite Planning and Research Unit at (046) 419-1286 or email [email protected].
