In a significant crackdown on drug-related criminality, the Kawit Municipal Police Station, under the direct supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard D Corpuz, arrested two individuals on charges of violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165.

The arrests were made on March 28, 2024, at approximately 7:15 PM, during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the station, in coordination with the PDEA-4A. The operation took place in Barangay Balsahan-Bisita, Kawit, Cavite.

The suspects, known by their aliases “Lenlen” and “Rey”, are residents of Barangay 36, Cavite City, and Barangay Balsahan-Bisita, Kawit, Cavite, respectively. They were apprehended after selling a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a substance suspected to be “Shabu“.

Following their arrest, the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language they understood. They were then taken to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further proceedings.

The Kawit Municipal Police Station reaffirms its commitment to intensifying its campaign against all forms of criminality and warns the public against engaging in illegal drug activities.
