KAWIT, Cavite — A suspected drug personality was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Kawit, Cavite, authorities said.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Miles,” was taken into custody on Wednesday at about 9:10 p.m. in Barangay Panamitan, Kawit, Cavite, after selling a small sachet of suspected “shabu” to undercover agents.

The operation was conducted by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the Kawit Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 4A (PDEA-4A), under the supervision of Police Lt. Col. Richard D. Corpuz, chief of police.

The suspect, a resident of Barangay Wakas 2, Kawit, Cavite, was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine and was brought to the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further investigation.

The arrest was part of the police station’s intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, particularly the sale and distribution of illegal drugs. Authorities warned the public to refrain from engaging in such activities.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
