TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Provincial Government-Cavite Office of Public Safety (PG-COPS) hosted a seminar on Wednesday aimed at enhancing the skills of public safety personnel in engaging with neurodiverse and mental health clients.

The seminar, titled “Understanding and Engaging with Neurodiverse and Mental Health Clients,” was attended by over 50 employees from various divisions of PG-COPS, including the Personnel Protection Division and Environment Protection Operations Division, as well as the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer.

Cecil D. Miranda, head of PG-COPS, opened the event at the Provincial Capitol Building, emphasizing the need for an inclusive and empathetic approach in public safety.

Experts Rachel C. Arellano, a registered psychometrician, and Denmark A. Dimapilis, a licensed occupational therapist, led presentations on effective client management and understanding neurodiverse disorders, respectively.

Attendees praised the seminar for its practical insights and interactive format, which provided a deeper understanding of the needs of neurodiverse and mental health clients.

The event concluded with remarks from Marie Shiela Antenor Haloc, head of the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office, who underscored the government’s commitment to continuous learning and inclusive public safety practices.

The seminar is part of PG-COPS’s ongoing efforts to ensure the well-being of all residents in Cavite.
