The Farmers’ Field School, a program run by the Office of the Imus City Agriculturist, continues to provide discussions on various planting techniques. The program was held on April 24, and May 2 and 8, 2024.

Participants visited the Turbulent Demo Farm in Tagaytay City on Wednesday, April 24, to examine various modern planting practices.

On Thursday, May 2, Agriculturist II Desierin Alcantara and Agriculturist II Dan Kevin Mojica shared their knowledge on SNAP (Simple Nutrient Addition Program) Hydroponics โ€” a method of growing seeds in water โ€” and on Insect Pests Management and Plant Diseases Management at the City Ecological Village, Brgy. Malagasang 1-G.

The aforementioned agriculturists taught Basic Bookkeeping/Record Keeping and Harvesting and Post-Harvesting Technology on Wednesday, May 8. City Agriculturist Robert Marges introduced the method of planting in urban areas through Urban Gardening.

The aim of the Farmers’ Field School program is to impart knowledge about urban gardening to farmers and those interested in planting vegetables and fruits.
