NAIC, Cavite — Police investigated a bomb threat targeting schools in this town after a menacing message circulated on social media early Monday, prompting authorities to suspend classes as a precaution.
The Naic Municipal Police Station received a report at 5:53 a.m. Feb. 10 from Immaculate Conception School of Naic in Barangay Latoria about a threatening message from a Facebook account using the name “YZWYZAX NOVILUWM.”
The message read: “BOMB IN ALL OVER THE SCHOOLS IN NAIC AND IS GOING TO EXPLODE AT ANYTIME OF THE DAY.”
Police said the incident may be connected to previous bomb threats recently reported in Naic. Authorities suspect the same group or individual is behind the series of threats.
Police coordinated with school officials and local government units. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit conducted inspections at affected schools, while the Cyber Crime Unit worked to identify the Facebook account holder.
No explosives were found, but parents and residents expressed alarm over the recurring threats.
“This is no joke anymore. It keeps happening. What about the children?” said one parent who requested anonymity.
Some residents said the repeated threats have disrupted normal classes and daily life.
“It’s paralyzing. You don’t know if it’s real or just a scare tactic, but of course you won’t risk your child’s life,” another resident said.
Residents called on local government and police to strengthen security at schools, conduct regular inspections and expedite the investigation.
“Police should be more visible around schools. We can’t wait for something to happen before taking serious action,” concerned citizens said.
Authorities remained on alert as the investigation continued. Police urged the public to use social media responsibly and report suspicious messages or activities immediately.
No arrests have been made. The identity of those behind the series of bomb threats in Naic remains unknown.
