The Philippine National Police (PNP) officers have arrested a 58-year-old man linked to an alleged ₱20-million estafa case involving a baccarat gambling scam and recovered ₱15 million in cash during an operation in Cavite province, the Southern Police District said on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as alias “Bobby,” was apprehended in Dasmariñas, Cavite, following a follow-up operation related to the alleged scam in Villamor, Pasay City.
Along with the cash, police also seized counterfeit casino chips and a Toyota Fortuner vehicle believed to have been used in the crime.
The arrest was one of several operations conducted by police in Metro Manila.
In a separate incident in Parañaque City, police arrested a 35-year-old man described as a “high-value drug suspect” and confiscated suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱353,600.
Additionally, seven men were arrested in Makati City for allegedly stealing copper cables belonging to telecoms firm PLDT. Cables and equipment valued at ₱269,824 were recovered.
The police operations are part of a broader campaign against criminality in the capital region, authorities said.
