The Cavite Expressway will implement a temporary diversion road at the Kawit exit ramp beginning Thursday as part of construction for the CAVITEX-CALAX Link Main Ramp, expressway officials announced.
The diversion, affecting traffic from the Kawit Toll Plaza to Zeus Intersection, will remain in effect from Oct. 9 through Dec. 5, 2025. A dry run is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 a.m. to test the temporary traffic scheme.
Class 1 vehicles — including cars, jeepneys, and small trucks — traveling to Kawit are encouraged to use Tirona Highway via the Marulas exit as an alternate route. The detour will help ease congestion along the construction zone.
Class 2 and Class 3 vehicles, which include larger trucks and buses, should remain at the CAVITEX exit ramp temporary diversion road going to Zeus Intersection.
The diversion road has been designed to accommodate heavier vehicle traffic during the nearly two-month construction period.
The construction is part of the ongoing CAVITEX-CALAX Link project, a major infrastructure initiative connecting the Cavite Expressway with the Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
The main ramp will provide improved connectivity between the two expressways, reducing travel time for motorists traveling between Manila, Bacoor, Imus, Tanza and other areas in Cavite.
The aerial map released by CAVITEX shows the temporary diversion road marked in green, with the construction area highlighted near Centennial Road. The diversion routes traffic around the work zone before reconnecting to the main expressway route.
CAVITEX officials urged motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic signs, and allow extra travel time during the construction period.
Updates and inquiries are available through the CAVITEX hotline at 1-35000 or via www.cavitex.ph.
