KAWIT, Cavite – A suspected drug dealer was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Congbalay-Legaspi, Kawit, Cavite on Monday, police said.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Cheche,” was apprehended around 4:00 p.m. after allegedly selling a small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine, or “shabu,” to undercover officers.
The operation was conducted by the Kawit Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and intelligence operatives led by PCpt. Ernesto G. Monasterial II, under the supervision of PLtCol. Socrates S. Jaca, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Region 4A (PDEA-4A).
The suspect, a resident of the same barangay, was informed of his constitutional rights and taken into custody for documentation and further investigation. He will face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police vowed to sustain intensified operations targeting drug-related offenses in the area.
“This accomplishment serves as a stern warning to the public to refrain from engaging in illegal drugs,” said Jaca.
