The Philippine Government is set to establish its first Philippine General Hospital (PGH) outside Metro Manila, aiming to expand healthcare access and ease congestion at the country’s main public hospital.
The new facility will be built in Cavite province, south of the capital, within the 200-hectare SM Carmona City township, a development by SM Prime in partnership with the local government.
PGH, currently based at the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila, serves as the country’s premier public hospital and a key training center for UP medical students.
The Cavite expansion is expected to serve the province’s growing population and neighboring areas, improving regional healthcare infrastructure.
Officials have yet to announce the timeline for the hospital’s construction and completion.
