DASMARIÑAS CITY, Cavite — A New Year’s celebration turned deadly after two men were shot by armed assailants in Barangay H2, Dasmariñas City, early Tuesday.

According to an investigation by the Dasmariñas City Police, the victims, known only by their aliases “Johnny” and “Christopher,” were standing in front of their house around 1 a.m. when they were approached by three armed men and shot.

“Johnny” was killed instantly, while “Christopher” managed to escape and seek help.

He was rushed to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.

The suspects left behind a .38-caliber revolver, which is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.

Authorities are still pursuing the perpetrators and are working to determine the motive behind the crime.

The incident occurred as the city was welcoming the start of 2025.

Police are continuing their investigation and are seeking more information about the suspects.
