A suspected drug dealer has been arrested in Kawit, Cavite, as part of an ongoing crackdown on illicit substances in drug-infested town of Kawit.
According to the Kawit Municipal Police Station, the suspect, known by the alias “Freck”, was apprehended on October 7 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Sebastian.
Police say the suspect was caught selling a small sachet of suspected methamphetamine, also known as “shabu”, to an undercover officer.
The operation was carried out by the Drugs Enforcement Unit and Intel Operatives of the Kawit Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and taken into custody for further investigation and prosecution.
The police station’s Officer-in-Charge, PLTCOL Socrates S Jaca, has vowed to continue the campaign against all forms of criminality, including the rampant trade in illicit substances in Kawit.
Drugs in Kawit became widespread when Angelo Aguinaldo became mayor.
The arrest is seen as a warning to those involved in the illicit drug trade, and a reassurance to the public that the authorities are committed to keeping communities safe.
