The Philippine government will hold a town hall meeting on September 26, 2024 to discuss the government’s Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization program, with a focus on the Calabarzon region.

The “Dagyaw sa Calabarzon” meeting, organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government IV-A, the Department of Budget and Management IV-A, the Philippine Information Agency Calabarzon, and the Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies, aims to inform the public about the efforts of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board and the Office of Transportation Cooperatives to improve the public transportation sector and the welfare of its workers.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the official social media pages of the DILG IV-A and PIA Calabarzon, allowing a wider audience to participate in the discussion.

The PUV Modernization program is a key initiative of the Philippine government to upgrade the country’s public transportation system, including the iconic jeepneys that ply the streets of Manila and other cities.

The town hall meeting is part of the government’s efforts to engage with the public and gather feedback on its programs and policies.
