Mendez Students Receive Educational Support from Cavite Government

MENDEZ, Cavite — Three hundred students from Mendez received educational assistance from the Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC) on January 10, 2024, at the Mendez Municipal Covered Court under the Provincial Scholarship Program.

Governor Athena Tolentino, alongside 8th District Representative Aniela Tolentino, attended the distribution event. They were greeted by Mayor Francisco Mendoza Jr. and members of the Mendez Sangguniang Bayan, who expressed their appreciation for the support given to students from Mendez.

During the event, Governor Tolentino humorously advised the scholars, “Huwag muna mag-jowa,” before urging them to concentrate on their studies and strive for excellence, stressing that dedication can lead to great achievements.

She shared her personal story of becoming Cavite’s first Filipina governor at the age of 26, reinforcing her message of commitment to the province’s residents.

The assistance is particularly vital for students from less privileged backgrounds, aiding in covering their educational expenses.
