ROSArio, Cavite – A 13-foot-long snake was spotted crossing the road in front of the Speciale Hotel in Brgy. Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite, on Tuesday morning, causing a commotion among hotel employees.
The snake, which weighed 15.5 kilograms, was seen by one of the hotel employees, who immediately called for help from a duty-free firefighter, SFO1 Herby B Yngreso.
Yngreso, who has experience in handling snakes, was able to quickly capture the snake and secure its mouth.
The snake was later turned over to the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
According to Engr. Marconi Austria, head of Rosario MENRO, the snake may have been hungry and was searching for food, which is why it emerged from its burrow.
Meanwhile, according to feng shui beliefs, the Year of the Snake is considered auspicious, with the handling of snakes believed to bring good luck in life.
