CAVITE, Philippines — Election officials have established 23 checkpoints across Cavite province as part of security measures for the upcoming election period, which runs through June 11.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) distributed the checkpoints across different municipalities, with eight in cities, six in Class A areas, and nine in Class B and C areas.
Officials also launched three Border Control Points (BCPs): one at Covelandia Road near the CAVITEX entrance in Kawit, and two in Bacoor City — at Barangay Talaba 3 and along Daang Hari Road.
Additionally, three Strategic Security Control Points (SSCPs) are now operational: the Ternate-Sapang checkpoint, SLEX-Carmona checkpoint, and Amuyong-Kaytitinga Junction checkpoint in Barangay Amuyong, Alfonso.
Personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are deployed to maintain security throughout the election period.
