PNP authorities arrested a suspected drug personality on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 in a buy-bust operation in Kawit, Cavite, as part of an intensified campaign against criminality.
The suspect, known by the alias “Bernie”, was apprehended by the Drugs Enforcement Unit of the Kawit Municipal Police Station at around 11:00 PM in Barangay Congbalay-Legaspi, after selling a small sachet of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine) to an undercover operative.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 4A, under the supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Socrates S. Jaca, Officer-in-Charge of the Kawit Municipal Police Station.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and is currently being held at the Kawit Municipal Police Station for documentation and further investigation.
The arrest is part of an effort by the Kawit Municipal Police Station to prevent and eradicate crime in Kawit, and serves as a warning to the public to refrain from engaging in illegal activities, particularly drug-related offenses.
The operation was conducted in accordance with Section 5 and 11 of Article II of the Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
