TRECE MARTIRES CITY — The 2024 Cavite Parent Summit, themed “Bridging the Gap among Caviteño Families towards Harmonious Relationship,” was held last week at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol.
The event, facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Population Officer (OPPO), drew employees of the Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC) seeking to enhance their parenting skills and create more harmonious family environments.
Eloisa L. Comia, officer-in-charge of OPPO, delivered the welcome remarks, expounding the importance of promoting family welfare through responsible parenting. She reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to empowering families to bridge generational gaps and foster stronger relationships.
The summit featured two informative talks by OPPO resource speakers.
Anna Viela V. Amparo, population program officer I, led the session “Parenting my Children Rated PG,” focusing on effective parenting strategies and the five love languages framework. She stressed the importance of understanding each child’s emotional needs and tailoring parental love and guidance accordingly.
Ariel G. Jarin, also a population program officer I, presented “Ako Bilang isang Mabuting Magulang,” encouraging parents to be role models of good behavior, fostering respect, trust, and open communication within the family. His talk highlighted the crucial influence parents have in shaping their children’s values and attitudes.
