Former Employee Arrested for Robbery in Bacoor

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly robbing a lechon manok store where he used to work in Bacoor City, Cavite.

According to initial investigations by the Bacoor Philippine National Police (PNP), the suspect entered the store and took P21,000 in earnings after threatening an employee with a sharp object.

CCTV footage showed the suspect arriving at the store and pointing the sharp object at the employee. The suspect quickly fled the scene after grabbing the money.

The employee reportedly recognized the suspect, who was a former colleague.

“The employee said the suspect looked familiar, like a former employee, so we immediately investigated and found out where he lived,” said Police Lt. Col. John Paolo Carracedo, chief of the Bacoor City Police Station.

With the help of CCTV cameras in the city, police tracked the suspect’s vehicle and apprehended him at his home in Imus, Cavite.

“We were able to track him down from the time he left his boarding house, got on a vehicle, and arrived in Imus, where we finally arrested him,” Carracedo said.

“This should serve as a warning to those who commit crimes in Bacoor, as we have CCTV cameras in every corner of the city,” he added.

Authorities said the suspect’s motive was revenge, as he was allegedly not paid his wages by the chicken company.

“The company is still processing his back pay,” Carracedo said.

According to the company, the suspect was fired from his job due to poor sales performance and frequent absences.

The suspect is currently detained at the Bacoor City Custodial Center and will face robbery charges.
