QUEZON CITY — Police arrested a 50-year-old man wanted for rape in Silang, Cavite last week following an operation by Fairview Police.
The suspect, who was not named, allegedly raped a minor with disabilities in Barangay East Fairview last year, according to Police Capt. Eliseo Oares, Deputy Station Commander of Fairview Police.
Authorities say the victim and suspect were former neighbors before the man fled to Cavite.
“The victim often visited the suspect’s house. He likely took advantage of her trust,” Oares said.
The victim, now pregnant, is in her seventh month.
The suspect denies the allegations but admits the victim frequently came to his house for food. He has requested a DNA test to prove his innocence.
The suspect is currently detained at Fairview police station.
