The lifeless body of an 11-year-old girl, allegedly a victim of sexual assault, was discovered in Gen. Trias City, Cavite.
According to local law enforcement, a resident found the body in a wooded area around 11AM yesterday while searching for bamboo shoots. The body was already in a state of decomposition, with her upper clothing raised and her shorts lowered.
The young girl had been reported missing for two days. According to her father, he last saw his daughter on Sunday night when she asked for money. He sought police assistance when she failed to return home after his shift.
The body will undergo a post-mortem examination to confirm if the girl was sexually assaulted. The police have identified a suspect but have not yet released the name.
